What is the capital of Nevada?
The state of Nevada became the official state of the United States in 1864 as the 36th in a row. It is located in the western United States and borders five other US states – it has the longest common border in the west with California, then in the east with Arizona and Utah , and in the north with Oregon and Idaho. The capital of the state of Nevada is the 50,000-strong city of Carson City.
The area of present-day Nevada was under Spanish rule after the beginning of colonization. After Mexico gained independence, it became part of Mexico for a short time, but after the Mexican-American War in 1848, the region became part of the United States. The territory belonged to the territory of Utah, but in 1861 it was separated from it and thus the territory of Nevada was created. Nevada became the official state in 1864 as the 36th state ranking; its borders were completed in the following years, when Nevada gained more territory in the east and south of today’s state.

Nevada is located in the western part of the United States. The northern part of the state is part of the so-called Great Basin, which is characterized by a desert climate and very high temperatures in summer and low in winter. There are a number of smaller or larger mountains leading from north to south, the largest of which is the Sierra Nevada leading to the border with California – the highest point of Nevada is Boundary Peak, whose peak lies at an altitude of 4007 meters. South Nevada has a desert character – there is the famous Mojave Desert.
Nevada is the state with the lowest total precipitation in the USA. The climate here is predominantly desert or semi-desert with very high daytime temperatures (in summer in the extremes up to 50 degrees Celsius) and low night temperatures (in winter they drop to -40 degrees). However, it always depends on the geographical location – while in northern Nevada the winters are long and very harsh, in the south they tend to be shorter and relatively mild. Drought prevails almost all year round, with most precipitation falling in the west on the windward side of the high mountains.
Natural conditions in Nevada are not very suitable for agriculture, in smaller quantities potatoes or onions are grown and cattle are raised here. On the contrary, it is relatively rich in raw materials and traditionally one of the largest American producers of gold, silver or mercury. However, the main part of the Nevada economy is made up of tourism, especially the main center of the entertainment industry Las Vegas and partly also the areas around Reno or Lake Tahoe.
The capital of Nevada is the city of Carson City, but the largest center is clearly Las Vegas – the metropolitan area around this world capital of gambling has about two million inhabitants.
The flag of the state of Nevada was adopted in 1991.

The capital of Nevada – Carson City
The capital of the state of Nevada is the city of Carson City, which is located in the western part of the state. It was founded in 1858 and today has more than 50,000 inhabitants.
The first permanent settlement in the area of today’s Carson City took place in the middle of the 19th century, when a ranch called Eagle Station was established by the Carson River. The whole area was part of Utah, but the people of present-day Nevada longed for their own territory; for this purpose, the capital was chosen just outside Eagle Station and named Carson City. After the discovery of gold deposits near Carson City, the population began to grow rapidly, and after the creation of Nevada, Carson City really became the capital. After Nevada became the official state of the USA in 1864, Carson City also became the capital of this state.
The largest employer in Carson City is the state; Furthermore, the city also benefits from tourism thanks to the nearby Lake Tahoe, a popular tourist destination.
